A reckless collaboration – Agi & Sam x Jaeger
by Luca Imbimbo

“Without tradition, art is a flock of sheep without a shepherd. Without innovation, it is a corpse” – Winston Churchill
Tradition and innovation can and must merge… In fashion too. It’s an essential step to be creative, now. Jaeger’s people have understood that. Synonymous with an exquisitely British sartorial heritage since 1884, they choose the ineffable duo Agi & Sam to create an exclusive collection of knitwear.

The collaboration marks a new step for the British heritage brand into the realms of high end men’s fashion. It’s the skillful use of the materials, carefully selected, put in the service of the unstoppable genius of the two young Englishmen who, in the last two years, have managed to attract the attention of media and customers thanks to their unique and unusual approach… A breath of fresh air in the sleepy world of the male fashion. It’s a meeting of two distant but near realities, united by a lowest common denominator: irony. And the irony becomes a tool to get inspired. Through this collection – implicitly connected to the FW15 introduced by the two designers last January – we go back to our childhood. Fun and flair flow through the thick textures of the fine Goswyck yarns. They turn them into interesting, unconventional items.

The color-block and roll-neck are the two elements acting as the fil rouge of a collection similar to a nostalgic patchwork quilt that, escaped from the clutches of the malevolent mothballs, rises to new life in a shamelessly contemporary key.
