A Provençal Oasis in the Heart of Mayfair: Jacquemus Opens New Store in London
by Adriano Batista
Located in the heart of Mayfair, the new Jacquemus boutique inhabits a historic building, previously an art gallery, and is designed to create an immersive experience that blends the spirit of Provence with the sophistication of London.

The boutique, a collaboration between Jacquemus and OMA, juxtaposes the old and the new. The neoclassical facade, adorned with a bas-relief frieze, contrasts with the contemporary interior, where clean lines, soft curves, and a neutral color palette create a serene atmosphere. The ground floor, dedicated to accessories, showcases a minimalist aesthetic with tiered wall displays. As visitors ascend the floors, the space transitions to a more intimate setting, with dedicated floors for men’s and women’s wear. The top floor, a private VIP salon, offers a cocoon-like experience, completely rounded and bathed in natural light.
The use of materials further enhances the boutique’s unique character. Textured white stucco, natural stone flooring, and wrought iron accents pay homage to Provençal craftsmanship. The signature banana yellow, used sparingly, adds a vibrant touch to the otherwise neutral palette.
The boutique also serves as an art gallery, showcasing a curated selection of pieces that resonate with Simon Porte Jacquemus’s artistic sensibility. From antique furniture to contemporary art, the collection offers a glimpse into the designer’s inspirations and creates a truly immersive shopping experience.
