A Look at Jacquemus New Office
by Anna Barr
Jacquemus has a new dreamy office in the 8e arrondissement in Paris. Founder Simon Porte called up architecture and design firm OMA which brought his surrealist vision to life making an extension of the designer’s inspirations and signature aesthetic.
Asymmetrical arched interiors are found throughout the space while curved corners with soft edges of the inside contrast the traditional structures of the building’s façade.
All art pieces have been curated by Simon Porte Jacquemus which includes famous artwork by David Hockney, Balthus, and Wolfgang Tillmans, among others. The office’s centerpiece is Aristide Maillol’s Sculpture, L’Air (2e état), 1938-1939, a powerful and balanced monument of the feminine body. Other Maillol pieces can be located in the office, including the paintings “Nu féminin couché de dos Dina (1942),” “Nu assis,” and “Nu debout.”
