Burberry’s new campaign, “It’s Always Burberry Weather: Postcards from London,” celebrates its heritage in outerwear. The project uses short films, pop-ups, and window displays to present its iconic coats and introduce new lines.
The campaign features four short films starring Olivia Colman, directed by John Madden. The films follow tourists on their first trip to London, where they meet several different Londoners. All of these local characters are played by Colman herself, from a cricket fan to a woman working in a chip shop. Their performances aim to capture the essence of daily life in the city.
Burberry’s creative director, Daniel Lee, says each film celebrates the many characters you can find in London. The cast also includes international models like Liu Wen, Mona Tougaard, and Tyson Beckford.
The short films come together in a final, fast-paced video that weaves moments from each story. The central thread running through it all is the Burberry coat, highlighted as a constant in the variable life of the city.
