The act of getting dressed is a personal audition for the day ahead. We create a silhouette and try on different versions of ourselves until the look fits the part we want to play. For Alain Paul’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, this daily ritual is viewed through the life of a dancer, for whom practice continuously informs an ongoing tryout. The designer, after a year in fashion awards, remembered his own auditions in contemporary ballet. This collection conveys that transitional and vulnerable process, with the world outside acting as the jury.
