Federico Cina’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, “Sottovoce,” is an invitation to see the everyday with new eyes. It proposes dressing not to be seen, but to feel.

The collection is built on full silences and memories without nostalgia. Its colors are soft, like those in a Morandi painting, and its mood is still, like a photograph by Luigi Ghirri. In the simple lines and breathable fabrics, there is an echo of a time that does not want to rush, but to bloom again, slowly. The idea is that even now, in the ordinariness of today, something can blossom.

For the presentation, the space of the Fondazione Sozzani was transformed into a silent landscape. It was filled with paper, objects, and gentle gestures. Paper became a body and a fold became a gesture. The fragility of the material was layered to create strength and structure, turning it into a kind of sculpture. Garments layered on bodies in slow motion, transforming stillness into a living presence.

This is a world of opposites coexisting. The common and the everyday intertwine, speaking to the quiet repetitiveness of life. Within this performance, a new bag emerges: the Via Emilia. Its long zipper recalls the mileage of the road itself, a name that holds memories and echoes Ghirri’s photographic explorations from 1986.

The project emphasizes collaboration. The essay notes the people, hands, and stories behind every piece. Special thanks are given to partners like Gruppo Mastrotto for leathers, Laser Team for leatherwork, and Ahdiid for a co-branded footwear capsule. It also acknowledges the Fondazione Sozzani for its role in supporting creativity.
