PUMA’s Talon sneaker, first launched in 2004, is a relic from a specific time. Its design is pure Y2K, defined by a low-profile shape and distinct rippling lines across its upper. It’s a shoe pulled from the archive, but its new collaboration with NO/FAITH Studios is about more than just nostalgia.

This reinterpretation rethinks the original. The new Talon is wrapped in a denim-like material that appears worn-in, giving it a sense of history. The paneling draws from old racing uniforms, while an external cage structure ties the whole look to a more current design language. It’s a mix of the past and the present, a Y2K artifact reworked for today.

The feeling of the project is captured in the campaign, shot by Beltran Gonzalez. His visuals are steeped in somber textures and muted colors. The compositions express themes of authenticity and introspection. The result is a melancholic, yet deeply humanistic, arrangement of images that reflects NO/FAITH Studios’ particular vision for the shoe. It’s a brooding take on a performance sneaker.
