Patta and Nike reunite for “The New Wave,” a capsule collection centered on the Air Max 90, a silhouette deeply embedded in sneaker culture.

Four Air Max 90 colorways anchor the release, each featuring Patta’s signature wave-shaped mudguard, a callback to their earlier Air Max 1 projects. The accompanying apparel and accessories follow a similar ethos: track-inspired cuts, refined materials, and understated co-branding that prioritizes cohesion over excess.

Music plays a key role in the campaign, reinforcing the cultural ties between Patta, Nike, and sound. Belgian-Congolese artist Baloji directs a surreal music video set inside the Air Max 90’s air unit, merging Black cultural motifs with futuristic storytelling. The visuals feature musicians BNYX, BXKS, and Odumodublvck, whose work mirrors the collection’s balance of tradition and innovation.

Patta frames the release as an extension of its “Wave” philosophy, a cycle of creating momentum and making space for others. As a Black-owned brand, it embraces both expression and reflection, a duality reflected in the designs. A limited-edition vinyl of the campaign’s original music will be available with select purchases.
