The Wild Bunch: ERL’s Pre-Fall 2025 Collection
by Adriano Batista
Venice Beach isn’t just surfboards and sunsets in ERL’s Pre-Fall 2025 collection. Designer Eli Russell Linnetz spins a chaotic tale with The Wild Bunch, inspired by a fictional gang of anarchists (the Dudley Dozens) who turn the California coast into their personal warzone. Think B-movie madness: hijacked parades, explosive lifeguard tower parties, and hostages held at a tiki bar.
Leather jackets, ripped apart and stitched back together with jagged seams, look like they’ve been pulled from a dumpster after a brawl. Layers pile on recklessly, crewnecks plastered with vintage car graphics and Swarovski crystals, cutoff tanks splattered with motorcycle art, all blurring the line between thrift-store finds and high-octane glamour.
ERL’s obsession with Americana and cinema bleeds through every piece. For the first time, the brand collaborates with California artist Peter Berlin, whose sensual visuals add another layer of rebellion. Meanwhile, the debut of ERL’s locally produced denim program ensures no two pairs are alike, each pair sun-faded and dyed to look like they’ve lived a hundred lives. Hand-knit varsity cardigans, made-to-order with embroidered logos, hint at a twisted prep-school dropout aesthetic.
Made entirely in Venice Beach, The Wild Bunch doubles down on ERL’s commitment to local artisans and chaotic storytelling. It’s fashion as a crime spree: dirty, dangerous, and impossible to ignore.
