Duran Lantink is the new Creative Director of Jean Paul Gaultier

During the last edition of Paris Fashion Week, and more specifically after Duran Lantink‘s last show, rumors of the Dutch designer joining the French fashion house Jean Paul Gaultier began to swirl like there was no tomorrow. And, as is often the case on such occasions, the rumors were finally confirmed this morning in a press release issued by the firm.

The document not only announced its new Creative Director but also, due to his arrival, the end of their era of collaboration. From now on, Lantink will be in charge of all the collections, presenting the first ready-to-wear line next September in Paris at the Women’s Fashion Week and the first Haute Couture one in January 2026.
Of the appointment, Jean Paul Gaultier himself commented: “I find in him the energy, audacity and desire to have fun with
clothing that I had myself when I started out: the new enfant terrible of fashion. Welcome, Duran.”
While Duran added: “For me, Jean Paul Gaultier is a genius. He belongs to that generation of designers who opened the doors to freedom of expression, without having to apologise for who you are. It’s a real honour to become Creative Director of the House today. For me, Gaultier is the ultimate brand, one that combines a radical vision of fashion with unique expertise. It’s also a House that constantly challenges codes. It goes beyond the boundaries of fashion by integrating all cultural disciplines to create a perpetual creative movement. Jean Paul Gaultier is redefining the language of clothing and the way we wear it in the street.”
