CELINE is back not only in the fashion news but also in the art one, as the French house has recently announced its collaboration with the universal Osaka Kansai expo to carry out the temporary exhibition “CELINE MAKI-E”, which will take place in Osaka (Japan), at the French pavilion, from April 13th to May 11th.

The immersive experience celebrates traditional Japanese craftsmanship and one of its most popular techniques, lacquerware – originally practised in China and Japan and spread to Europe years later. In addition to this, the space will also feature Triomphe’s urushi lacquer art pieces created with Hikoju Makie and accompanied by the brand’s exclusive bags, as well as two films directed by Soshi Nakamura: ‘Ten Landscapes of Dreams’ and “Hands at Work”.

Will you be in the city soon? If so, we invite you to visit the exhibition and experience first-hand the elegance of CELINE‘s heritage and some of its deepest values, such as transmission and respect, present in its eighty-year history.
