Jil Sander Resort 2025
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
A couple of weeks before the end of the year, Jil Sander -a fashion house founded in Hamburg and based in Milan- unveiled its Resort 2025 collection through a lookbook, as the firm is used to presenting this kind of line.
Composed the portfolio of more than 20 images, all of them following the characteristic type of photography that they usually carry out when shooting, 7 of them correspond to menswear looks, inspired by the rebellious and inverted nostalgia of the Nouvelle Vague and remarkable for their soft and hard lines at the same time, the materials, textures, and tonalities in which they have been developed.
Lucie and Luke Meier – creative directors of Jil Sander – know how to balance the opposites, and as soon as they offer you a monochromatic three-piece set in shiny leather that few would dare to wear, they change register and let streetwear break into the calm and minimalism that predominates in their work; see as an example the oversize set of Harrington jacket and military/zebra print shorts. The zebra print is usually black and white, but on this occasion, the former is replaced by khaki green, but what is white is the suit’s casual, square jacket and sharp, slim-fitting trousers in the same shade, contrasted with its jet-black lapels.
Soft, enlarged, and folded bags, clutches with jewelled zip fastenings, and necklaces attached to the neck add an avant-garde touch to the looks and finish them off.
