PUMA x Aries Drop Debuts
by Adriano Batista
PUMA joins forces with Aries, for their first-ever collaboration. Teased at PUMA’s New York Fashion Week show back in February, the full collection finally hits shelves this Thursday, September 5th.
This is a high-octane blend of PUMA’s heritage with Aries’ bold, graphic-driven style. Think racing stripes meet kitschy aesthetics, with a healthy dose of modern and nostalgic references thrown in for good measure.
Forget gender norms. Statement graphics take center stage across moto-mesh tees, experimental knitwear, and sleek double nylon pieces. A curated selection of accessories and footwear completes the look, including a fresh take on the iconic PUMA Mostro sneaker reimagined by Aries.
The capsule collection boasts eye-catching pieces like a moto-mesh long sleeve tee emblazoned with custom Aries graphics and a knitted cardigan splashed with a vibrant digital print. For a touch of cycling inspiration, the lace-knit tight tee is crafted from a unique jacquard fabric. The oversized garment-washed tee features a fierce PUMA graphic with an airbrushed motif that playfully nods to Aries’ fascination with ancient mythology.
The water-repellent nylon jacket and lightweight pants double down on the digital print theme, showcasing a skeletal x-ray “PUMA” graphic. And for a dose of pure nostalgia, the PUMA x Aries Cap and Mini Grip Bag channel those unforgettable 80s and 90s mall vibes.
But it wouldn’t be a complete collaboration without some killer footwear. PUMA and Aries take center stage with their reimaginings of the legendary Mostro and the iconic Suede. The Mostro, the undisputed hero of the collab, gets a makeover with a blend of mesh, neoprene, and suede on the upper. The Aries twist includes an elastic closure with an adjustable toggle for added comfort. The Suede stays true to its roots with a rubberized mudguard, leather toe cap, and special graphics adorning the heel and tongue.
