OUEST PARIS Fall/Winter 2024
by Adriano Batista
The young French label OUEST Paris, founded by designer Arthur Robert, made its first appearance on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar with its fifth collection. The collection was inspired by the designer’s own experience of walking back home after a night of dancing, wearing his coat over yesterday’s outfit.
The collection also paid homage to the history and identity of the house, which was founded in 2022, with a series of prints that revisited the imaginary archives of OUEST Paris, creating a trompe l’oeil effect on current pieces. The prints reflected the OUEST signatures, such as the western clichés, the denim-inspired details, the cool attitude of a surfer and folk accents.
Another highlight of the collection was the launch of the first collaboration between OUEST Paris and a local bag brand called CAHU. The collaboration resulted in a line of bags that reinterpreted the signature bag of CAHU, the Pratique, with its super tough PVC and luxury details, in new shapes and sizes. The bags included the XXS, worn as a belt bag or crossbody, the XXL, the perfect weekender, and the Surf, a board case with all the CAHU details. The bags also featured the OUEST rivets and a surf-tinged label, marking the partnership between the two houses.
