Dior Opens An Exceptional New Boutique In Lisbon
by Adriano Batista
Dior has chosen Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, as the location for its latest boutique. The new store is situated on Avenida da Liberdade, the most prestigious avenue in the city, where fashion and luxury converge. The boutique occupies an iconic building that reflects the spirit of traditional Portuguese architecture, with a façade that blends harmoniously with the surroundings.

The boutique showcases the different universes of the House, from women’s and men’s ready-to-wear to accessories and jewelry. The interior design is inspired by Dior codes, such as the Versailles parquet and the cannage motif, creating a refined and elegant atmosphere. The decor is also enhanced by furniture and artworks by contemporary artists, such as Valéria Nascimento, Bruno Ollé and Pedro Calapez.
The highlight of the boutique is the presentation of the Dior Cruise 2024 collection, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the artistic director of women’s collections. The collection pays homage to the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, a symbol of freedom and independence, who was also a muse for Monsieur Dior.
The boutique also hosts a selection of pieces from the Dior Spring 2024 men’s collection, created by Kim Jones, the artistic director of men’s collections. The collection is influenced by the London cool of the Buffalo movement, a subculture that emerged in the 1980s and mixed elements of punk, reggae, hip-hop and high fashion.
The new Dior boutique in Lisbon is not only a destination for fashion lovers, but also a place of artistic expression and dialogue. The boutique features a spectacular sculpture by Joana Vasconcelos, a renowned Portuguese artist who collaborated with Maria Grazia Chiuri for the Dior ready-to-wear Fall/Winter 2023-2024 show.
