Loewe Holiday 2023 Collection
by Adriano Batista
LOEWE‘s Holidays collection is a tribute to craftsmanship, bursting with lively colors, seasonal glimmers, and an array of characters.
To infuse a touch of whimsical magic into the festivities, the Holidays collection proudly features a festive collaboration with the Kyoto-based ceramic studio, Suna Fujita. Shohei Fujita and Chisato Yamano, the founders of Suna Fujita, find inspiration in natural landscapes and animals, crafting their art from childhood memories and the joys of family life with their son and pet. These stories are beautifully hand-painted on ceramics, from teapots to cups and plates. For SS24, their unique characters have made a seamless transition to knits, sweaters, jeans, iconic house bags, sneakers, wallets, and accessories.
Imagine a vibrant green Hammock bag as the canvas for a child perched on a cloud-trimmed tree, feeding a tiny yellow bird. Nearby, a panda climbs a branch, while another comically tumbles down the trunk, each detail meticulously crafted in intricate leather marquetry. A mandrake root and an otter transform into the softest of toys. That same otter graces polka-dotted cardholders, a mischievous lemur swings around the handle of a Hammock bag, and a seal becomes an adorable felt charm.
Inspired by the childlike joy of Suna Fujita’s miniature worlds, LOEWE is giving back. They’ll be donating a portion of each LOEWE x Suna Fujita purchase to Save the Children’s Education in Emergencies program, which works to ensure safe learning environments for children in humanitarian crises worldwide.
But that’s not all. The collection also features high-waisted silhouettes for both men and women, playing with exaggerated proportions. Everyday essentials include bold combinations of Argyle knitwear. Iconic bags like the exquisitely gathered Squeeze come in new and seductive leather shades. Vivid colors illuminate accessories, with puffed-up sunglasses, Puzzle Fold charms, and a kaleidoscope of soft mohair scarves. The Toy pump and Screen sunglasses shine with constellations of tiny crystals.
Get ready to dive into the Holidays collection, hitting stores and loewe.com starting November 16th.
