For Spring/Summer 2022, EGONLAB returns with a collection called “Dynasty”, delivering a positive message: “Love after chaos”. This season, it is the figure of Lady Godiva that inspired Florentin Glémarec and Kévin Nompeix. Legend has it that at the beginning of the year 1000, this early activist would have crossed the streets of Coventry naked on a horse, to convince her husband, the Earl of Chester, to reduce the taxes levied on the people to finance his military campaigns. This emancipatory figure, propelled the muse of the collection, reflects a fashion that federates and creates links. Open to the world, the EGONLAB “Dynasty” defends all points of view and dresses all bodies.
This collection is also an opportunity for the duo to unveil their “Heritage” project, which aims to highlight artisans living in Paris or on the outskirts. In a world where immediacy is king, the two designers strive to defend traditional know-how, sometimes in the process of disappearing: hand-made guipure, beaded embroidery, jewelry fashioned by blacksmiths… Creating bridges between past and future, craftsmanship and innovation; EGONLAB is committed to the preservation of an exceptional, but often too forgotten, heritage.
