MONCLER announces ANTARCTICA 2016
by Luca Imbimbo

Exactly one year after the first attempt, Moncler is again working alongside Michele Pontrandolfo on his lone expedition to the South Pole. It is an extreme challenge in keeping with the Moncler spirit across Earth’s largest ice continent.
Once more it will be willpower, physical fitness and determination that will be helping the polar explorer on this new edition of ANTARCTICA 2016. From mid November, he will be attempting to repeat this huge challenge, tackling a boundless continent of ice lashed by winds at 40-50 degrees below zero in his bid to achieve the goal of a lifetime: the world’s first lone exploration of the South Pole.

ANTARCTICA 2016 will again see Moncler creating all the technical equipment used by Pontrandolfo: garments of unbeatably high performance, designed purposely to handle the harshest weather conditions, inspired by the Moncler Grenoble collection with its distinctly technical approach.

The ice white garments the polar explorer will be wearing for ANTARCTICA 2016 are inspired by the Moncler Grenoble collection, which sees jackets with a high technical coefficient and performance combined with an innovative design. The key elements include fabrics that are highly water repellent and waterproof, accessories tested to withstand very low temperatures, heat taped seams and thermal insulation with an extremely high filling coefficient designed specifically to guarantee the utmost comfort under extreme conditions.
