Ultra Goliath 2 “Dr. Shapiro Collection”
by Eduardo G.

The release of out Limited Edition, 50 pair run, of the infamous Ultra Goliath 2 Sunglasses in a Matte Black colour way as part of The Vintage Frames Shop’s Dr. Shapiro Collection.
In 1977 Stan Besner of Ultra Palm found the original mould for the Goliath 2 in Holland. The first colour they produced was a dirty blond, which years later developed into a black and brown model. The success of their experimental frame was brought to their attention at an Opti Fair in NYC when a client presented them with California Magazine showcasing a group of men wearing the Ultra Goliath 2 on the cover. The Success of the frame continued as many artists and celebs adopted the iconic Goliath as their signature frame. It can be best recognized being worn by DMC of Run Dmc,, Micheal Cane, Harry Carey, as well as appearing on Ace Rothstein in the blockbuster film Casino to name a few.
With only fifty pairs of these sought-after frames being produced, Vintage Frames Shop is once again proving why they are the number one purveyor in the Vintage eyewear industry. Ultra has exclusively co-branded with the Vintage Frames Shop to release a limited edition Matte Black frame as part of our Dr. Shapiro Collection. The enormous size and presence of this frame is what made this sunglass into such an iconic piece of eyewear. The Ultra Goliath 2 comes with either it’s original clear lenses, or with a custom grey gradient set of lenses. The Vintage Frames Company recognized its historical importance to the music and fashion world and made it a priority to bring it back to life.
The Vintage Frames Shop x Ultra Golitah 2 Dr. Shapiro Collection Sunglasses will be available exclusively at Vintage Frames Company.
