In case the sheer range that German-born, New York-based Siki Im showed between his highly conceptual prison-inspired Spring/Summer 2014 collection and his art-infused yet very wearable Fall/Winter 2014 collection is not enough of an indication that this is a designer worth watching (and wearing), his recently-launched extension line, DEN IM, surely is.

However, don’t be mislead by the name. DEN IM is not your average jeans collection. In fact, according to the designer (who has experience with denim from his days at K Karl Lagerfeld), “DEN IM is not just jeans. It is truly an extension line since the main collection doesn’t have jeans or cut and sew.” The collection does include some jeans (obviously). The denim trousers simultaneously pay homage to the traditional 501 details but push the traditional design forward, as we have some to expect from Im.

Additional pieces include track jackets, cotton fleece sweatshirts and hoodies with cool zip-details, cotton twill chino pants, and jersey t-shirts (be sure to check the layered ones). Im describes the line as anything but basic, as “it has intricate details and seaming constructions.” And much like the main collection, it is made entirely in the U.S., with the denim hailing from Los Angeles. Check it out at Barneys, SSENSE and more retailers soon!
