Started as an experimental initiative inspired by Japanese lifestyle, PROTOPROJECTS has turned into a full-fledged art project, which pursues the idea of mixing distinct cultures like Japanese and European in order to get to harmonious integration and synthesis of opposites. It demonstrates the fact that in modern society there is no way for existing independently. Combining traditional and modern techniques, eastern and western aspects of culture, as well as a great passion for crafts, this narrative incarnates in the form of limited objects of garment design.

PROTO 1 debut garment series refers to Japanese mythology, using images of spirits, ghosts and other folklore creatures as a main part of design. Primary attention is given to craft techniques, such as hand-printing, hand-dyeing, and hand-discoloration. In some garments, thermochromic and photochromic inks are used, which creates an effect of print appearing from temperature or sunlight.
