“At the beginning there was only Chaos, Night, dark Erebus, and deep Tartarus.”

Estelita Mendonça‘s Spring/Summer 2021 collection titled “Outburst” studies the idea of Chaos as a juxtaposition and creation of new elements. The concept of a new society (or a new way of living) comes from the human necessity of structuring Chaos. Chaos arises in a virulent and contagious environment that characterizes the human society. The clash of materials and colors, patterns, and textures suggest a new masculinity. The irony in the use of patterns that reminds us of a recent past is appealing to affective memory. Shapes descendant from workwear evoke the idea of union. The composition of these elements pursues something new in regards to a solution for what is happening with manhood.
