Y-3 presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at the Palais Brongniart on Saturday 27 June, transforming the venue into a brutalist evocation of a football stadium. Guests sat in bleachers beneath stadium lights and ambient illuminations that referenced the LED screens of the world’s biggest arenas. Movement artists traversed a black astroturf runway in a three-part production that traced the rhythms of a match, from buildup to crescendo. The collection embraced football not as a theme but as a pulse.

A staple stripe motif runs throughout, connecting adidas iconography to the counter-cultural impulse that has always defined Y-3. The footwear offering is anchored by reimagined takes on the Stan Smith. The new Y-3 STAN SMITH SQ subverts the shoe’s timeless look with a square toe and a heel, while the Y-3 STAN SMITH LO PRO offers a sleeker seasonal variation. The Y-3 YAKUTAT returns from the Spring/Summer 2008 archive, reworked with a breathable summer construction, a silhouette inspired by the mountain and built for the streets.

The presentation’s crescendo unveiled a central series of pieces created with Japanese designer Takahiro Miyashita. The capsule explores the interplay between sporting inspiration and elevated design codes, subverting football jerseys with taped seams and introducing knit sweaters with reflective yarns. Metal trims bring new weight to quintessential Y-3 silhouettes, and tailored pieces are transformed through ultralight woven constructions. Bold graphics return with an “I Love Y-3” motif referencing a coveted archival look, alongside a roman numeral “IX” graphic nodding to Miyashita’s own legacy. Footwear synthesises the dialogue through the Y-3 YAKUTAT BOOT TM, featuring metal trims and a dual-layer construction. A harness cape rounds out the accessories.
