ASTRONAUT AEROBICS INSTITUTE
The Astronaut Aerobics Institute is a futuristic day spa prepping the body for space travel. Audiences are placed in a low pressured vacuum chamber isolating the mind, body and instantly oxygenating blood cells. This project is part of Lucy’s Artistic Research Laboratory proving the biometric impact artistic provocations can have on the brain and body. READ MORE
MAKE YOUR MAKER SHORT FILM
A crude laboratory plays host to a series of macabre experiments, based on the premise that 'Food and the Body are Inseparable'. Lucy's film takes on genetic manipulation, creating glowing comestibles that drip and flow to mold bodily shapes that are then harvested, sliced and repackaged for consumption. Read more

The Swallowable Parfum® short film is the culmination of a four week Summer residency at Pin Up Project Space where Lucy extrapolated her artistic provocation into a live performance where viewers stepped into a future where the body and technology merge. Read more

Australian skincare brand Aēsop commissioned McRae to conceive Morphē; a short film that playfully presages a shared collision between science and beauty. At the edge of this world, a painstaking Scientist employs an assortment of liquids and weird contraptions to minister arcane beauty treatments to a sleeping Muse. Read more

Lucy makes her directorial debut with this kaleidoscopic music video for Australian synth-pop outfit Rat vs Possum, a project that entailed working alongside twenty of Melbourne’s RMIT University top design students. Read more
SWALLOWABLE PARFUM
Swallowable Parfum is a cosmetic capsule that releases fragrant molecules through the skins surface upon perspiration, emitting a biologically enhanced odor. This provocation breaks entirely new ground when thinking about traditional modes of parfum; working from the inside out, the body becomes an anatomiser, signaling a new cycle of evolution. Read more
LIQUID EXPERIMENTS
Chlorophyll Skin is an area of research exploring mechanisms for changing the color of skin. Inspired by chromatophores; the colored pigments found in chameleon skin and the challenge to make effects found in Photoshop and other CG imagery, by hand. Other liquid experiments are powered by windscreen wiper machines and the live show uses a stethoscope to record sounds. Read more

ROBYN’S INDESTRUCTIBLE MUSIC VIDEO
This ‘Making Of’ video showcases a project that started over two years ago generating dynamic textiles made from liquid, air and vapor. 1.2 kilometres of transparent plumbing tubing was knitted with fishing wire to skin Robyn’s body. Read more
