Tom of Finland Foundation has announced the return of its Emerging Artists Competition, judged by an international panel that includes Willy Chavarria, Jess Cuevas, Peaches, Jack Pierson, Stefano Pilati, Pietro Spirito, Mickalene Thomas and Gray Wielebinski.

The competition offers a platform for emerging artists to explore themes of sexuality and identity through work that challenges conventional boundaries. Submissions may include photography, drawings, paintings, collages, sculptures, 3D works, digital art or mixed media.

Richard Villani, ToFF Director of Global Partnerships and Exhibitions, said: “We are committed to mentoring emerging artists, acting as stewards of culture, and creating safe, supportive spaces where creativity can grow and flourish. By doing so, we honor Tom of Finland and his enduring influence on generations of queer artists.

The competition is open to all artists except previous winners or those already commercially selling work that portrays sexuality. Entries must be submitted by May 8, 2026. Selected artists will be notified by the end of July, with awards presented at a Tom of Finland Art and Culture Festival later this year.

The winning artist receives a $5,000 grant, exhibition opportunities, promotional support, and exclusive Tom of Finland artwork and publications.
