Willy Chavarria Enters a New Chapter With “Spicy Pastels”
by Adriano Batista
Willy Chavarria has presented his Spring/Summer 2026 collection with “Spicy Pastels,” an editorial that signals a shift for the brand. The collection moves toward a version of luxury built on character and intention rather than excess.
The title comes from the palette. Soft pastels are filtered through Chavarria’s dramatic sensibility, with what he calls the “spice” of Latino identity running through them. The imagery draws from the atmosphere of a traditional Latin family home, where contrasting colors and emotional presence create tension even in joyful moments. The narrative carries the heightened feeling of a Latin soap opera, a celebration of heritage and roots.
Chavarria describes this as a new chapter. Luxury here means honesty, softness and strength together. The colors feel rebellious but also personal. Brights are defiant rather than decorative. Key shades include Chicle, Papaya, Red Hot, Bourdin Blue, Butter, Uniform Green, Concrete, and Masa.
This season introduces the brand’s first complete accessories collection. The signature “W” motif runs through bolero bags in two sizes, oversized clutches, W totes, and small leather goods. They are made in Italy with premium leathers including distressed calf, shiny eel, and smooth grain.
Tailoring anchors the collection and is entirely handmade in Italy. The new “Chilango” silhouette for men offers a relaxed but precise form.
Leather is treated as foundational this season rather than just outerwear. Key pieces include Bad Boy leather pants, the Chuco leather blazer, Chavela sets and dresses, a coach jacket, and trench-inspired leather dresses. All leathers and core fabrics come from specialized Italian mills. Jersey, canvas, and denim are produced in the United States with custom washes.
