By Friday afternoon, there was only one destination that truly mattered in Paris: VETEMENTS. Under the creative direction of Guram Gvasalia, the house once again commanded attention far beyond fashion itself. Staged inside an industrial underground venue just moments from the Eiffel Tower, the Spring/Summer 2027 presentation drew an audience as eclectic as the brand’s own universe. North West, Latin music superstar Maluma, rapper Gunna, and supermodel Natalia Vodianova were among the guests, further cementing VETEMENTS’ position as one of the defining intersections between luxury fashion and contemporary culture.
As the lights dimmed, models emerged with the detached confidence that has long defined the house’s visual language. Yet the casting once again proved to be one of the collection’s strongest statements. Diversity at VETEMENTS has never felt performative; it has always been intrinsic to its identity. Alongside established faces, the runway welcomed ’90s supermodel Carmen Kass, the sons of pop superstar Britney Spears, Sean and Jayden, while iconic actress Sharon Stone closed the show with the kind of effortless authority only decades of cultural relevance can command. More importantly, the casting quietly mirrored the collection itself: different generations, different references, and different ideas of celebrity coexisting under a single vision. Few brands could assemble such an unlikely line-up without it feeling forced.
What unfolded suggested a label entering an altogether more sophisticated chapter. The disruptive instinct that first defined VETEMENTS has not disappeared, but it has matured into something considerably more precise. Rather than relying on provocation through scale or irony, the designer appears increasingly invested in cut, proportion, and construction. The clothes no longer depend on concept alone to justify their existence. It is a shift that feels neither calculated nor nostalgic. He is no longer designing to prove what VETEMENTS can be; he is designing from a position of certainty.
Relaxed tailoring formed the backbone of the collection, accompanied by fluid trench coats, impeccably constructed shirting, and outerwear with a cleaner architectural sensibility. The oversized graphic T-shirts and exaggerated XXL proportions that once defined the label have quietly stepped back, making room for a wardrobe that feels sharper, more assured and ultimately more luxurious. VETEMENTS has flirted with this territory before, but never with such conviction. More importantly, these are garments built to outlast the speed of the internet rather than simply exist within it.
Streetwear has by no means vanished from the equation. Circular-cut bomber jackets brought familiarity, leather remained a constant presence, and, among the collection’s biggest surprises, skinny trousers quietly re-emerged. Rather than announcing their comeback outright, the silhouette is introduced in measured doses, paired with either refined cowboy boots or substantial, chunky footwear. Fashion has always had a habit of resurrecting yesterday’s discarded ideas before turning them into tomorrow’s essentials, and the designer seems fully aware of that cycle. Instead of abandoning the codes that made VETEMENTS influential, they are subtly reframed through a sharper, more elevated lens.
Meanwhile, accessories reinforced the house’s visual identity without competing for attention. The extra-long belts, which have become one of VETEMENTS’ enduring signatures, punctuated numerous looks, adding movement and tension to otherwise restrained silhouettes. They served as a reminder that the brand no longer needs exaggerated gestures to establish authority. Its recognisable codes now operate with far greater confidence and considerably less noise.
Perhaps this was the collection in which VETEMENTS finally stopped looking back at its own mythology. Rather than chasing virality or attempting to recreate the shock value of its early years, Guram Gvasalia chose refinement over repetition, demonstrating that evolution can often be the boldest move of all. Provocation may have built the house. Precision is what will secure its future.
