Vans is celebrating six decades of the Authentic. The brand launched a global “Off The Wall” campaign centered on the shoe that started it all and the people who have always shaped its meaning.

The Authentic arrived in 1966 as a quiet deck shoe, born from California surf culture. Then skateboarders found it. The pavement became its purpose. Over 60 years, that unassuming shoe turned into a global icon, worn by artists, originals, misfits and malcontents. People who never waited for permission to belong.

The campaign treats “Off The Wall” as more than a slogan. It is a worldview rooted in individuality and creative defiance. The people featured embody that mindset. They are builders and breakers. Originals and outsiders. People hardwired to create their own noise.

Photographer Rosie Marks captured the collective. The list includes SZA, Hayley Williams, Franz Lyons of Turnstile, Travis Barker, Lizzie Armanto and T-Funk. Each brings their own voice and energy, united by the same instinct.
