With craftsmanship as an emotional language, Valette Studio presented its Fall/Winter 2026-2027 collection, The New Romantics, during Paris Fashion Week. Creative Director and founder Pierre-François Valette feels there’s a contemporary melancholy in the fashion world in which image has gradually taken over garment design. Wanting to drift away from said melancholy, The New Romantics is born, creating a bridge between the body and the maker through garments and their colors, materials, and embellishments. As looks come down the runway, the human touch can be felt through the tactile intimacy and soulful execution of the pieces, serving as a reminder of the person behind the needle.

The collection features an electric color palette, with blue, fiery red, deep green, terracotta, indigo blue, and glossy, powdery blacks, whites, and greys. A wide variety of materials, including tailoring wools, wool broadcloth, wool gauze, faux fur, recycled leather, technical cotton, cotton voile, and herringbone denim, provided the best structure for 3D printing, embroidery on print, gouache, and watercolor dyeing embellishments to be a part of the collection. Finally, to evoke a sense of nostalgia, the makeup featured a painterly punk aesthetic. Models wore metallic pigments across their eyes, reminiscent of the theatrics in the 80s, with inspiration drawn from David Bowie and Mick Jagger.
