Tom Ford’s Taormina Orange Smells Like a Sicilian Cliffside Resort
by Adriano Batista
Tom Ford has released a new fragrance called Taormina Orange. The name evokes an exclusive private resort perched on a hill overlooking the cliffs of Sicily. This is a citrus-woody fragrance that captures blood orange, forests, cool breezes, and dramatic sea views.

The fragrance opens with the scent of an evening stroll through orange groves. Bright and effervescent green mandarin intertwines with tangy lime, creating a burst of sun-drenched citrus. Cardamom follows with fresh green spices, adding both coolness and enveloping warmth.

Orange blossom absolute comes next. It is lush, luminous, and intoxicating, a true expression of Taormina’s coastal vistas. The blossom’s petals carry the juicy vibrancy of Sicilian blood oranges and contrast with the elegant bitterness of bitter orange oil. The rugged cliffs of Taormina appear in the rich depth of patchouli oil and the earthiness of oakmoss. Clean musks with saline undertones pay tribute to the soaring sea views, a landscape that both seduces and captivates.
“When I began creating this fragrance, I was captivated by the image of Sicilian orange groves, that contrast of freshness with the warmth of the woods,”Master Perfumer Ane Filippo says. “The Sicilian blood orange is exquisitely juicy and brings a joyful luminosity. It is hypnotic yet stimulating. You want to bite into it.”
She is right. You do.
The bottle gets the assignment too. Golden accents and glass that mirrors the turquoise Ionian Sea from that cliffside village. It looks like a postcard you would steal from a boutique hotel.

Taormina Orange wants you to feel like you took the late train up the hill, caught the breeze, and left your phone in the room. That is the real luxury. And it comes in a bottle.
