Church’s makes its lightest shoes ever. The new Roadrunner collection takes the brand’s classic English shapes (the penny loafer, the plain derby, the brogue, the ankle boot) and reworks them for a faster pace.

The change is in the sole. It is a wedge, made from a compound of rubber and air. This makes the shoes ultra-light and flexible, with the cushioning of a sneaker. The tread pattern nods to a classic Church’s design, but the feel is entirely new. The idea is simple: a formal shoe that can keep up.

The four styles are named for places: Rock Ferry, Redruth, Ringmer, Rotheram. They cover the needs of a modern wardrobe, from a sleek slip-on loafer to a lace-up boot. Each one is built with the same fine leathers and skilled craftsmanship the brand has used since 1873. But the construction underneath is different, designed for comfort over long days and sudden dashes across cities.

The look remains minimal and versatile, able to move from a meeting to a gallery to a bar. The Roadrunner collection is for the man who needs his shoes to be as dynamic as his day, without sacrificing the quiet authority of a well-made object.
