Stone Island has released a capsule collection for the Lunar New Year, celebrating the Year of the Horse. The horse is seen as a symbol of strength and decisive movement, which the brand connects to its own forward-looking design.

The capsule focuses on two colors: gold and dark brown, both tied to good fortune for the year. The pieces include a stand collar jacket, loose joggers, a cap, and a sling bag. They are made from Stone Island’s signature NYLON METAL fabric. This fabric gets its shimmery look from its specific weave. A special dyeing process colors only the nylon threads, leaving the polyester threads their original tone. This creates a shifting, iridescent effect.

In the dark brown version, a golden polyester thread is used in the weave. When dyed, this golden thread adds more depth and a stronger color shift to the fabric.

The graphics are subtle. The branding appears blurred, a reference to the horse’s speed, taken from the brand’s archive.

The campaign was shot in Hu Zhou by photographer Chiang Ming Shih, with a film by Lyu Qing. It features actor and equestrian Ethan Juan, a friend of the brand who has worked with them before.

The collection launched first in China on January 4th. It is now available globally at select Stone Island stores and online, presented in special red packaging for the New Year.
