TATRAS turns its attention to the forces that shape the sea for Spring/Summer 2027. Wind and water become the collection’s protagonists, invisible yet transformative, creating a dialogue between exposure and protection, movement and structure. The conditions of the sea itself serve as inspiration: environments defined by openness and freedom, but also by unpredictability and resistance.

Titled The Way of the Sea, the collection explores how materials respond when subjected to these forces over time. It takes inspiration in part from Hiroshi Sugimoto’s seascapes, where horizon, sky, and water are reduced to their purest forms, and from the work of Gualtiero Redivo, whose sail-like structures examine the relationship between material and tension.

Wind becomes a creative force, generating transparency and lightness through sheer technical nylons, fluid silk ripstops, layered transparencies, and sail-inspired constructions. Water introduces erosion and endurance, expressed through garment-dyed cottons, waxed technical surfaces, and lightweight protective outerwear. The collection builds a wardrobe informed by these opposing yet complementary conditions, with technical outerwear joined by dresses, skirts, trousers, knitwear, and lightweight layers designed to move between environments.

Materiality plays a defining role. Waxed technical cottons, matte superlight nylons, fluid silk ripstops, cotton jacquards, and linen-cotton blends create surfaces that react differently to movement. Three-dimensional cotton stripes introduce depth. Lightweight padding and three-layer technical constructions reinforce performance while maintaining a sense of ease. Throughout, airy linens alternate with technical shells, and rope-inspired details connect utility with refinement through a language of tension and restraint.
