Stone Island and New Balance Drop Second 574 Ghost Collection
by Adriano Batista
Stone Island and New Balance are back with another version of the 574 Ghost. The second collection continues a partnership built on material research and design. This time the shoe is fully monochromatic, wrapped in suede from top to bottom.
The 574 is one of New Balance’s longest-running models. Here it gets the Stone Island Ghost treatment. That means tonal execution across the entire thing. Even the midsole is wrapped in suede, something exclusive to this collaboration. The tongue, collar, and upper have extra padding, softening the original shape into something more sculptural while adding comfort for daily wear.
Construction matters. Stitch-and-turn technique eliminates overlapping seams, creating lines that reference padded garments and emphasize softness. The brushed ‘N’ logo and heel tab contrast with the smooth suede body. A debossed ‘STONE ISLAND PRODUCT RESEARCH’ marking sits on the lateral panel. The felt Compass logo patch on the tongue is tonal. The insole carries a printed graphic. Inside, lightweight EVA and ENCAP cushioning handle comfort and support. The ridged laces are custom, pulling from details found on Stone Island Ghost pieces.
Three colors arrive this season: dark beige, slate blue, and dust grey. They match the Spring_Summer ‘026 sub-collection palette. The packaging is monochrome too, coordinated with each shade.
Christopher Anderson shot the campaign. He placed the shoes against the Cretto di Burri, a massive land art installation by Alberto Burri in Sicily. Check it out below:

The second Stone Island | New Balance 574 Ghost collection drops March 11. Available at selected Stone Island stores and online at stoneisland.com for those with a MyStoneIsland account.
