SLAM JAM x SALOMON: From Mountain Tops to City Pavements – Drop 2
by Adriano Batista
It started on the trails. Now it’s headed back to the streets.
On February 24th, SLAM JAM and SALOMON will release the second installment of their ongoing Sportstyle collection. If the first chapter was an introduction, a handshake between the Italian curators and the French outdoor specialists, this drop feels like a deeper conversation about where performance gear fits into the rhythm of daily life.
The centerpiece of Drop 2 is the XA PRO 3D GORE-TEX. It’s a familiar face to anyone who has spent time on uneven terrain, known for its stability and durability. But here, it gets a rethink. Slam Jam has filtered the trail icon through a lens shaped by early 2000s space age aesthetics and the raw energy of the city. It still has the technical specs, Gore-Tex waterproofing, breathability, that go anywhere build, but now it’s dressed for the pavement. It’s a shoe that can handle a sudden downpour during a commute or a spontaneous walk across town, blending tech wear function with an attitude that works under streetlights.
The collection expands beyond footwear. Alongside the sneakers, there’s a tight edit of essentials: a hoodie, a long sleeve, and a beanie. These are not afterthoughts. They follow the same logic as the shoes, functional and stripped back, with graphic details and dual branding that nods to the partnership without shouting. They’re the kind of pieces you reach for when you want something that works hard but looks effortless.
