Madrid/Tokyo-based brand SHOOP has chosen the aesthetics of japanese Otaku and his culture as the inspirations for this collection. This time the label worked with an artist from London Michael Willis whose work previously featured on KENZO, Nike and Warp Records.
¨Next Life¨ exists within a space parallel to our own. The collection unearths possible narratives — presenting question’s that explore how technology will affect the very fabric of human existence. Aesthetically and thematically the ¨Next Life¨ collection draws heavily on the cyberpunk anime/manga from the 80/90s; reinforcing tensions between possible dystopian & utopian futures — as we peer into a world where omnipresent technology is on the rise, bound to us as we transition through the next evolutionary phase.
