Saint Laurent’s Men’s Summer 2027 collection explores the contemporary need for more drama and the consequences of turning away from it. Presented during Paris Fashion Week, the show was held inside Fujiko Nakaya’s Cloud #07156 installation at Bourse de Commerce, becoming a symbol of presence, absence, and desire. The collection reflects on the constant desire for more noise and more attention, as well as the outcome of stepping away from it. With a grounded color palette featuring grey, brown, black, beige, orange, ochre, claret, lime, gold, and powder blue, the collection sculpts how living in the present helps us let go of the know-it-all anxieties.

Saint Laurent’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, explores restraint as seduction through new ways in Saint Laurent’s tailoring: a higher cut on the body, with flat or gently pleated trousers, and classic pieces, such as the ribbed V-neck sweater and the waistcoat, with elevated silhouettes. The looks were completed with sculpted, see-through, and glossy shoes, bringing sensuality to the collection. Gold was central to the look, moving away from standing as a luxury symbol; it transformed the practical trench into a unique yet utilitarian piece. Vaccarello found inspiration in figures who have portrayed control as an attribute: Tina Chow and Mr. Ripley, whose restricted styles create room for intimate intricacy. Furthermore, the collection is a rejection of the current need to know more, speak more, and see more, celebrating the art of the unknown.
