For Fall/Winter 2026, Rolf Ekroth builds a collection from what already exists. The starting point was the archive and the studio, surrounded by garments from past seasons. The initial urge was to erase everything and start again, not literally, but as a mental image of burning it all down. A feeling of exhaustion became a direction.

From this thought came a mascot: a cartoon cat named Pyro, drawn by Ekroth’s longtime collaborator Matilda Diletta. Pyro appears throughout the collection, bringing humor and a little distance to darker emotions, offering lightness without denying the seriousness underneath.

As the work progressed, the desire to erase the past shifted. The collection moves forward by revisiting and rebuilding older garments and silhouettes, using past collections as a base for more resolved versions. There are patchworked plaids, padded outerwear, and layered pieces meant for protection. References to sleeping bags appear in insulated trousers and modular vests that sit between clothing and shelter.

Details carry symbolism. Candle pockets are added to outerwear and cargo trousers, left for the wearer to interpret. Detachable padded gloves on select coats offer a practical solution inspired by the simple reality of winter and losing things. The color palette remains dark and muted, reflecting the difficulty of finding motivation while closely watching the world. Moments of warmth appear not as optimism, but as signs of persistence.
