Reference Studios Announces INTERVENTION VI for Berlin Fashion Week

Reference Studios has announced the sixth edition of INTERVENTION, the fashion and culture platform curated by founder Mumi Haiati, running from 2 to 5 July during Berlin Fashion Week.
The programme works in dialogue with P100, Reference Studios’ experimental curatorial platform, moving between gallery and runway. On Potsdamer Straße, Galerie OM opens INTERVENTION VI with the exhibition Partie Deux on 2 July, bringing together carpets and tapestries that explore memory across cultures. From 4 to 5 July, P100 presents MUSEUM EBAY ARCHETYPES, curated by Shayne Oliver, at Schinkel Pavillon. The project transforms Oliver’s personal archive into an installation spanning two floors. One floor presents MUSEUM, an ongoing project within his collaborative practice. The other introduces EBAY ARCHETYPES, a new evolving archive with selected works continuing their journey online. Oliver, founder of Hood By Air and Anonymous Club, has spent two decades redefining the intersection of fashion with performance and nightlife.
Runway programming takes over Kronprinzenpalais on 5 July. Berlin label Dagger opens at midday, followed by Copenhagen’s Martin Quad and Tokyo’s John Lawrence Sullivan by Arashi Yanagawa. The day closes with GmbH, marking ten years since Benjamin Huseby and Serhat Işık founded the label. Between shows, Berlin multi-instrumentalist Braths will perform in the garden, a classically trained musician fluent across seven instruments whose sound is shaped by both his classical foundations and Berlin’s hip-hop scene.
“INTERVENTION VI continues a line of inquiry we opened back in January, when we started asking how authenticity actually gets made today,” said Haiati. “Then, the question was about how identity and credibility get constructed across platforms and institutions that don’t always agree on the terms. This edition takes that same question somewhere warmer. After months of asking how authenticity survives mediation, we wanted to spend a few days simply living it. At a moment of such fast technological acceleration, there’s something almost romantic about insisting on the live and the human-touched.”
We can’t wait to arrive in Berlin and experience first-hand the energy of this year’s edition.
