Staged at the iconic Palais de Tokyo with Concept Korea ambassador ALPHA DRIVE ONE in front row donning the brand, RE RHEE presented their Fall/Winter 2026 collection “Inherited, Rebuilt” in Paris. Made up of the design duo June Bok Rhee and Hyunjung Joo, together they reimagined the creative potential that lays in heritage. It is refreshing to see a collection that isn’t about radical dismantling of fashion codes, especially when everything around us seems to be living by the infamous motto “Move fast and break things.”

RE RHEE goes beyond simply seeing tradition as a static form of preservation. Rather, they describe tradition as a system of laws and customs that have developed throughout time, a “inherited complexity.” Classic and casual silhouettes are blurred through deconstruction and recombination, traditional sartorial norms including tailoring, proportion, fastening systems, and layering are reinterpreted. In the end, we aren’t given a definitive answer on honoring the past but rather future possibilities of tradition. This is one of the reasons why we can’t put Korean designers in a box, they continue to show us a diversity of ideas and there isn’t one single signature code that they all adhere to except quality.
