The brand ERL, designed by Eli Russell Linnetz, has released a new collection. It is called “Rancher” and it is made in California. The collection reimagines the mythology of the American West through a Californian perspective.

The pieces focus on a weathered, lived-in feel. The palette is built on aged indigo and faded browns, meant to echo sun and dust. Fabrics include weathered twills and sun-bleached fleece, suggesting a life spent outdoors.

Key items involve meticulous hand-aging and special washes. There are aged indigo jean jackets with flannel plaid linings, and faded brown denim jackets with natural sherpa collars. Relaxed denim jeans come in both indigo and brown. The line also includes a sherpa slit-neck pullover, khaki chinos, and faded crewneck sweaters.

A notable addition is a line of hand-made patchwork quilts. They are crafted from fabrics from the designer’s personal archive. These quilted panels are applied to the brand’s signature corduroy pants, turning them into wearable archives.
