Queeriosities, the UK’s largest queer art and makers fair, returns to Copeland Gallery in Peckham from 2 to 4 October, bringing together more than 50 LGBTQIA+ artists, designers, and independent makers from across the country and beyond. Now in its fifth edition, the fair offers a curated fine art exhibition, direct access to artists at their stalls, and public programming, all within an environment that is queer-led and operated from start to finish. Last year’s edition drew nearly 3,000 visitors and generated tens of thousands of pounds in direct revenue for artists.

“I founded the annual Queeriosities Art and Makers Fair to connect queer artists and queer audiences to create new forms of financial support and togetherness within our community,” says founder and curator Davy Pittoors. “Now as we head into our fifth edition, the impact shows how there are other ways of working when we shape the opportunities ourselves.”

The fair spans original paintings and drawings, hand-thrown ceramics, jewellery, apparel, and vintage queer publications and ephemera, with everything made by LGBTQIA+ artists. This year’s lineup includes new voices like artist and illustrator Bee (aka Beeillustrates), painter Adam Baker, ceramicist Fredde Lanka, and artist RTiiiKA, alongside returning names such as Richard Kilroy, Lily Deason, happbellyman, Oli Raptor, and The Common Press.

The feature exhibition, Here We Go Again, presents new work by six queer artists: Winnona Hedgeland, Tom Hemingway, Sandy Kiralawella, Jingyi Li, Ailsa Ogden, and Joey Terrill. Curated by Pittoors, it explores the idea of queer truth at a moment of unstable and competing realities, with practices spanning lace-making, metal work, mixed media installation, drawing, and painting. The exhibition marks the first UK presentation of a work from Los Angeles Chicano artist Joey Terrill’s multimedia Still-Life series, which incorporates HIV medications from the AIDS crisis directly on the canvas. Film collective Tranz Tropez will also present short films in conversation with the exhibition.
