PUMA Celebrates the Suede Through Medellín’s Skate Community

PUMA has partnered with Touching Ground, a creative project offering an intimate portrait of Medellín through the lens of its skate community. Created by photographer and director Lauren Luxenberg in collaboration with Medellín skateboarder and creative Ronal Sanmartin, the project documents the city from the inside out. Beyond skateboarding, it captures the people, traditions, friendships, and everyday moments that shape Medellín’s identity.
The project centres on the idea of roots, those found in family, culture, and community, as well as in the streets and neighbourhoods that define the city. Shot across digital photography, analogue film, Super 8, and camcorder, it presents an honest perspective of Medellín and the community that continues to shape its creative spirit. For decades, the PUMA Suede has been embraced by generations of athletes, musicians, artists, and skaters, becoming a symbol of creativity and self-expression. Check out the project below:
