Prada has opened a new boutique on Corso Umberto, in the heart of Taormina’s historic centre. The space spans around 300 square metres over two levels, housing leather goods, accessories, ready-to-wear, and footwear.

The interior carries the brand’s familiar codes. The black-and-white chequered marble floor nods to the first Prada store in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Walls reinterpret the wooden slat motif in pastel green, paired with wooden shelves and drawer units. On the ground floor, the furnishings are predominantly wood, with Verde Alpi marble tables based on an original design by BBPR and side tables by Gio Ponti. Wooden and wicker seating, along with light-toned rugs, warm the space.

A wooden staircase leads to the lower level, accompanied by a display wall in timber that extends the presentation of accessories from the ground floor, rounding out the women’s offering with scarves, hats, and jewellery. The lower level is dedicated to menswear, with natural-coloured matting on the floor, glass and wooden display counters, and Gio Ponti seating with light-toned cushions. The overall effect is calm and consistent, a Prada store that feels at home in its setting rather than parachuted in.
