Peter Wu‘s Spring/Summer 2027 collection is built around a very particular kind of heat. Not the breezy, postcard version of island life with beaches and ocean winds, but the sultry kind: muggy, stifling, humid, and yet sensual. The collection draws from the daily reality of commuters who move through urban spaces on islands, weaving through traffic on bikes, navigating cooler mornings that give way to sweltering afternoons.

Clothes here must do multiple things at once. They need to keep the wearer looking sharp when they walk into the office while surviving the humidity in between. The Deca jacket captures this balance. A water-repellent nylon windbreaker with a hood hidden in the collar, it protects against the elements but stays airy enough to handle the heat. Summer plaid wool appears in an earthy palette, soft but counteracted by the crispness of a cropped denim jacket in Japanese paper cotton. A seersucker bowling shirt, drawstring shorts and pants, and a relaxed overshirt bring freshness and playfulness to classic summer textiles.

American workwear remains a strong reference, with a chore jacket, worker jacket, and biker jacket all appearing in duck fabric. But reinterpretation drives the collection. The durability and functionality of workwear styles remain, while materials are updated for island heat. The multi-pocketed Oasis jacket comes in a camouflage-print Japanese nylon tusser with matching cargo shorts. Traditional chino is reinvented as a cropped overall, a twist on work aprons.
