Patta and Lacoste have teamed up on People’s Choice, a project that lets the community decide which archival Lacoste tracksuit gets brought back to life. Few garments move across social divides like the tracksuit, lightweight, packable, and built for movement, function dressed up as uniform. The Lacoste tracksuit is over fifty years old and still looking fresh. There is no right way to wear one. Unzipped, mixed, rolled up, worn with loafers or sneakers, it works.

In 1975, Lacoste introduced its own version, commonly known as ‘The Original Model.’ Designed with tennis courts in mind, it was minimal and came in white with the green snap of the crocodile logo. By the 1980s, a new audience in France had taken notice. Wearing Lacoste became a lifestyle choice, and the brand began experimenting with new colours and materials, including satin fabrics. Within a decade, the tracksuit had been adopted by hip-hop pioneers, British football casuals, and b-boys and girls. It would never be seen the same way again.

Patta pulled twelve tracksuits from the Lacoste archive, and only one will be reproduced, with the release set for Fall 2027. Voting starts today and runs until 6 August. Every vote counts as an entry into a raffle for a chance to win the remade tracksuit. Cast your vote now at lacostexpatta.com.
