Our Legacy‘s Spring/Summer 2027 collection is a love letter to British style, written by creative director Cristopher Nying since his first visit to London in the early 2000s. It traces the patchwork of subcultures that defined the decades between the end of the Second World War and the turn of the millennium, how they clashed and influenced one another, shaping a modern understanding of style.

Garments with cult resonance are reframed. The trench coat, originally military, became as integral to the noble wardrobe as to the sartorial masking strategies of 80s football casuals. Here, trenches feature modular, slashed backs, acknowledging their shapeshifting history as conduits between proper exterior and subversive interior. Menswear silhouettes sit louchely on the frame. An Edwardian double-breasted coat is cut with a nonchalant attitude, as are laddish bombers and boyish linen knit sweaters. They are contrasted by gentleman’s club tailoring with sculpted, corsetted construction details. A severe cocoon coat with subtle Victoriana echoes is rendered in floral upholstery jacquard, the same fabric used for this season’s trenches. Workday poplin shirts are finished with camp ruffles, nodding to the New Romantic tactic for reappraising the baroque. Frayed surface treatments suggest a faded poise, an elegant decay.

Heritage tartans drape into tops with punk flair. Military-issue knitted tanks and multi-terrain camouflage linings appear in re-proportioned Harrington jackets and holster vests, worn with anti-establishment conviction and recalling a history of appropriating army insignia as pacifist emblems. A collaboration with Fred Perry weaves through the collection, integrated into the mainline. The brand’s iconic twin tipping is abstracted, blown-up, displaced, and bleached, deployed with the same wit as prior style tribes who made it their own.
