OUEST Paris‘ Spring/Summer 2027 collection channels the carefree spirit of an era, the heat of a June in the city, and the young men who claimed abandoned piers and construction sites in New York, lounging in the sun in denim, athletic shorts, and form-fitting T-shirts. The inspiration draws from photographers Stanley Stellar and Alvin Baltrop, who captured that time of relative freedom before the storm of the AIDS years.
That same energy is brought back to Paris, to the era captured by Philippe Heurtault, moving between Le Palace and La Main Bleue, a mix of clones and fashion icons. At the centre stands Claude Montana, a key figure who embodied the clone uniform but made it couture. Colourful bomber jackets and leather trousers, references to Americana and denim woven through his work and personal style. The designer remembers seeing Montana on Rue Saint-Honoré some fifteen years ago, always wearing that same uniform.
The Ouest workwear collection, with its rugged riveted utility pieces marked with Western-style lettering, is reimagined this season in pastel shades. At a time when expressions of masculinity are hardening across the globe, colour becomes an act of resistance. The collection was presented during Paris Fashion Week.
