The House of Mugler has launched a new digital series starring the performance artist David Hoyle.
In a sequence of short episodes, Hoyle acts as both host and provocateur. He guides viewers through the architectural codes and silhouettes of Creative Director Miguel Castro Freitas’s first designs for Mugler, the SS26 Pre Collection titled The Wardrobe of Identities.
Creative Director Miguel Castro Freitas stated the series aims to highlight the camp, iconoclastic heart of Mugler. He cited Hoyle’s wit, disruptive spirit, and glamour as qualities essential to the brand, framing the collaboration as a celebration of community and joy.
The series blends sharp commentary with visual intensity. It reaffirms Mugler’s commitment to performance and to clothing as a transformative act. Each episode focuses on a distinct theme of ‘how to wear Mugler,’ maintaining a tone that is daring and subversive.
David Hoyle added that Mugler has always been about metamorphosis and the courage to exist beyond boundaries. He described the collaboration as a space where fashion meets philosophy, humor meets political provocation, and the body becomes a site for beauty.
