Moschino Appoints Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo as Creative Directors
by Adriano Batista
Moschino has named Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo as its new creative directors, effective immediately. The duo, who founded Sunnei and served as its creative directors until September 2025, will present their debut collection for the house in September 2026 during Milan Fashion Week.

Massimo Ferretti, Executive Chairman of Aeffe S.p.A., framed the appointment as a matter of balance. “In the evolution of a fashion house, it is essential to find the balance between identity and innovation,” he said. “Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo possess the necessary qualities to meet this challenge: a contemporary creative vision, a deep cultural sensitivity, and the ability to develop relevant and distinctive creative languages. We are convinced that their contribution will further strengthen Moschino and contribute to its growth in the coming years.”
Messina and Rizzo pointed to Franco Moschino’s legacy as a guiding force. “We have always admired Franco Moschino’s ability to challenge norms through creativity while maintaining a clear and consistent voice,” they said. “It is a rare quality. Moschino has always embodied this attitude as a cultural house driven by a firm, recognizable, and radical point of view, using pop culture as a critical tool and not merely as an aesthetic language. Taking over the creative direction of the house means embracing this legacy and projecting it into the present, reinforcing its relevance and its capacity to shape the contemporary cultural imagination.”
